Hospice Care
Knowing that a loved one is suffering from a debilitating illness or possibly even nearing the end of their life, it is often very difficult to deal with mentally, physically and spiritually. The staff at River Terrace combines knowledge and empathy to help manage a patient’s symptoms and make the patient as comfortable as possible. Outside hospice providers may be able to offer further support if the Resident meets hospice criteria. Educating and comforting the family is also part of end of life care services provided by our staff.
Respite Care
Respite care is designed to relieve individuals or families involved in caring for a loved one who is no longer physically or mentally capable of taking care of themselves on a daily basis. River Terrace offers a respite care stay program that allows for caregivers to take a break and take care of themselves. Whether a caregiver must travel for business or recuperate from an illness or injury, we can relieve the burden of daily caregiving through our respite care program.
River Terrace offers its full continuum of services including 24-hour nursing care, medication administration, daily meals and snacks, laundry services, planned activities and social services, during respite stays.
Testimonials
My mother is a current resident in the Assisted Living portion of River Terrace. The facilities are well kept and the staff is very attentive. We were also impressed with the variety of activities for all the residents to participate. We generally visit on the weekends and have yet to see a weekend where there was not some type of entertainment or activity for the residents to participate.
Daughter of Resident
Country Club style living in lush surroundings of the grounds to finely furnished facility with the best health care assistance every imagined by our family for our mother, who was an original resident. Her care was so wide based and administered thorough that our mother lived to be well pasted her 100th birthday. The staff kept aware of her every need communicating with our family so that no health conditions or personality changes were glossed over nor ignored. The staff always had her best interests in mind with all of her care relieving our family of stress in her daily care that would have been extremely difficult for us to handle. We will always recommend River Terrace to anyone in doubt about a proper facility for their loved one.

"My mother moved to an independent living apartment at River Terrace Health Care Center a little over a year ago. It was a big step for her since she was selling her villa and downsizing. While it was a huge adjustment, River Terrace has worked out very well for her. She has a spacious two bedroom apartment (repainted to her liking I might add) that is very comfortable and feels like “home”. While she has her independence, we also know that she monitored to make sure that she is safe and healthy. The fact that not one resident has contracted Coronavirus is a huge testament to the lengths that they go to keep their residents safe. I also can’t say enough nice things about the staff at River Terrace… always friendly, always ready to help, always respectful. They treat Mom like family, and that is so important to her children. I highly recommend that you look at River Terrace when it’s time for Mom or Dad to make that move. I think you’ll be impressed from your very first conversation with Amy Kreiger, just like we have been." Mike Lampton

"We have been most thankful of the care mom has received from the staff at River Terrace. It was a rough transition after my father’s death in January to select an assisted living facility for her. The RT crew welcomed her with open arms and showed her so much kindness and compassion when she moved in late January. Then when Covid hit ; they followed state guidelines to keep residents safe and to keep us updated daily. Mom loves to visit with the staff as time permits and understands the restrictions put into place. She feels safe and that is what matters. Thanks RT staff-all of you- for the excellent care you have and continue to provide during these trying times❤️❤️❤️" Pherna Miller
Assisted Living Resident's Family
I am writing this to whom anyone is thinking about going to a Retirement Center. A little over a year ago my sister and I checked out different places to move our Mother who has Alzheimer's. After doing research on places we decided on River Terrace. We moved her in Aug .of 2019, have never regretted this move. From day one, they were all so kind and willing to do anything they could to help Mom transition into her new home. After 19 Months, Mom loves her new home. And has grown to Love everyone there. They treat her with respect, and do everything possible to make her feel at home. I can't say enough about the Administration, and the employees at River Terrace. The place is one of the cleanest places I have ever been . The Employees All Love & Care for All their Residents.. They treat them All like Family.. This has been a difficult year for everyone with Covid. But River Terrace has done a tremendous job keeping all the residents Covid free. For that I will be forever Grateful.. So if anyone is looking to move, whether to Assisted Living, Memory Care or Nursing Care, I would Highly recommend River Terrace.. It is such a relief knowing my Mother is in Good Hands and they all Care & Love Her. Sincerely, Sandra Davis
Memory Care
Our father has been at River Terrace Retirement Community in the assisted living unit for almost two years. He is 93 years young and is exactly where he belongs. Dad is a bit of a loner, and the interaction with the staff and residents has been good for him. Our Mother passed several years ago and there went his social life. He had gotten to the point at home where he was burning his food and lying on the couch all day. When we were forced to take his car away, the BEST option we found was River Terrace. He went in kicking and screaming, but has now found a home where he is cared for and is actually taking part in the various activities that are offered at this amazing facility. I used to worry about him living alone even though I lived close by. We were no longer able to travel for fear Dad would need something. That worry has been replaced with the knowledge that Dad is in a safe environment where he is loved and cared for. I had taken over his medication when he was at home with a medicine dispenser that beeped when it was time to take his medications twice a day. That was no longer working because he either failed to hear it or ignored it, thus not always getting his much needed medication. At River Terrace, that worry is gone as well. The nurses deliver his meds in the morning and evening and make certain Dad takes them. They also remind him to come down to the cafeteria for his meals. Just typing this makes me even more grateful and thankful for the staff at River Terrace. They meet Dad’s needs, leaving me to just visit and be his daughter, rather than a nagging caretaker.
Happy Family
I am glad there is a facility such as River Terrace to care for my mother during this time in her life. Caring people have taken away my guilt that my mother is not living at home. It has given me peace of mind that her life is as comfortable and as good as it can be especially during the pandemic situation. I have never had a reason to doubt the fine care especially during the times when she is less cooperative due to aging/dementia. I thank all at River Terrace. Daughter of Resident, (BC)
